Serving the Jewish Retirement Community in Southern Hillsborough County
With gratitude to Hashem and thanks to our incredible community, we are excited to share an important new chapter for Chabad in our area.
Over the years, our Riverview Chabad Center has grown beautifully, serving individuals and families throughout the surrounding communities. As the Jewish population in Sun City Center continues to grow especially among retirees, we recognize the opportunity and responsibility to bring Jewish life even closer to them.
We are therefore excited to announce the opening of a new Chabad location in Sun City Center!
This is not a move away from Riverview. Rather, it is an expansion of our mission and our community.
Our Riverview location will continue to be a vibrant center for classes, holiday programs, family events, and community celebrations, while the new Sun City Center location will allow us to offer additional local programming and create a warm Jewish home for residents in that area as well. Some events will take place in Riverview, some in Sun City Center, and many will continue to bring our entire community together.
Most importantly, we remain one Chabad family — growing together and reaching more Jews with warmth, friendship, and Jewish connection.
Expanding our reach into Sun City Center requires a major investment of time, energy, and capital. While our Rabbi and Rebbetzin work tirelessly to ensure that no Jew is left behind, the expenses of opening a new Chabad location can be daunting. Rather than charging membership fees or exorbitant event prices, which could alienate some people, we rely on the generosity of the community that we serve.
